Claims Handler

Team: Issue/Service/Response/Judgement

To effectively and efficiently manage a caseload of road traffic accident claims from the point of issuing court proceedings to obtaining and enforcing court judgements, with the aim of recovering money for insurer clients and meeting and preferably exceeding individual and team targets.

Key Task Areas

  • To undertake proceedings and enforce court judgements for claims relating to undefended road traffic accidents, including:
    • - Reviewing and assessing for liability all cases passed across by the Instructions team
    • - Confirming the accuracy of the details of all if the relevant parties
    • - Timely filing of the relevant papers to the court service, using standard forms and documentation
    • - Instructing and briefing Counsel prior to hearings
    • - Ensuring timely service of judgements to the defendant(s)
    • - Complying with departmental diary systems relating to key/critical dates
  • To build and maintain effective professional relationships with clients
  • To communicate effectively with all parties e.g. court service, policy holders, third parties, third party insurers, bailiffs, sheriffs & tracing agents, both on the telephone and in person
  • To review incoming post and prioritise accordingly
  • To manage and process high volumes of telephone calls effectively
  • To produce non-standard written correspondence to a high standard
  • To deal swiftly with client complaints in line with the departmental standards and the firm’s complaints procedure
  • To adhere to company standards, policies and procedures at all times
  • To contribute positively to departmental and firm-wide activities
  • To undertake relevant training as required
  • To undertake any new tasks relevant to, and to be reasonably expected of, an Insurance Claims Handler

Qualification

  • Educated to GCSE standard in English and Maths (or equivalent)

Experience

  • Previous experience of using case management systems
  • Customer service experience 

Knowledge

  • An understanding and knowledge of all aspects of the work areas, tasks and procedures of thelegal team within the Insurance Department, including court processes and procedures

Junior IT Support Technician

Team: IT Team

We are looking for a Junior IT Support Technician to provide first line desktop operating systems support and general maintenance of IT–related hardware and software to all staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide telephone and desktop IT support to internal users, including
    • - Setting up new workstations
    • - Software support including MS Office, Laserforms, Visualfiles, Totalspeech and Adobe products
    • - Printer and multi-functional photocopier support
    • - Setting up projectors and related PCs
    • - Investigating, diagnosing and rectifying simple faults
    • - Escalating issues to the IT Manager where necessary
  • To note problems and identify performance trends, taking corrective and/or preventative action as required, referring to the IT Manager as necessary
  • To respond to requests logged via the IT helpdesk
  • To complete related administration as required
  • To support the implementation of the IT Plan
  • To deliver IT service to defined Service Level Agreements and in accordance with the firm’s IT policies and procedures
  • To liaise with third party support companies in relation to software applications and hardware maintenance as directed by the IT Manager
  • To liaise with the General Office Manager and order printer/photocopier consumables to ensure sufficient stock levels are maintained

Paralegal

Team: Credit Solution Team

We are looking for a Paralegal to effectively and efficiently manage a caseload of debt collection claims, from the point of being notified that a claim is being defended to obtaining judgements/settlement, with the aim of recovering money for clients and meeting and preferably exceeding individual and team targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • To undertake proceedings and obtain court judgements for defended claims, including:
    • - Reviewing and assessing for liability all cases passed across by the legal teams
    • - Gathering additional documentation as required, including the preparation of witness statements
    • - Timely filing of the relevant papers to the court service, using standard forms and documentation
    • - Instructing and briefing Counsel prior to hearings
    • - Ensuring timely service of judgements to the defendant(s)
    • - Complying with departmental diary systems relating to key/critical dates
  • To build and maintain effective professional relationships with clients

HR Administrative Assistant

Team: Human Resources Team

We are looking for a HR Administration Assitant to support the HR Manager in all HR Administrative, training and recruitment tasks, taking responsibility for a number of administration processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain systems to monitor training, development and CPD provision.
  • Arrange induction training for all new starters.
  • Arrange training courses and activities within the overall annual training and development plan.
  • Arrange in-house training courses, where appropriate.
  • Ensure that appraisals are regularly carried out throughout the Firm in accordance with agreed policy, and that all paperwork is completed in a timely manner and actions taken to address any problem areas.
  • Research of external jobs, salaries and benefits for internal benchmarking purposes.
  • Undertake recruitment within recruitment and selection procedures and practice, undertaking all associated admin tasks and assisting the HR Manager in headhunting and screening candidates. 
  • Ensure that recruitment and selection is undertaken within a non-discriminatory framework which complies with relevant legislation, and promotes equality and diversity.
  • Deal with enquiries relating to the internal HR software system, escalating any complex issues.
  • Ensure that personnel records are kept up to date; maintained in accordance with best practice; the Data Protection Act, and operational needs.
  • Oversee the Pre-employment background checks process for all staff, in accordance with the Data Protection Act, DBS guidance and ICO guidance.
  • Ensure the security and confidential storage of records at all times, both manual and computerised.
  • Fully utilise the existing HR management software so that management reports and information can be effectively produced for the HR Manager, Partners and Senior Managers.
  • Make appropriate system changes in relation to:
    - New starters, Change Forms, Leavers and Position creation for all system users 
  • Create and distribute new starters, leaver and role change contracts and documents as and when required.
  • Arrange length of service celebrations
  • Contribute to the content of all-staff meetings and staff newsletters.
  • Create reports using Excel and ADP.
  • Undertake general HR admin tasks as and when required.

Collections Performance Manager

Team: Credit Solutions Team

We are looking for a Collections Performance Manager to increase productivity, reduce operational costs and improve the customer experience by successfully employing best business practices and  keeping all such initiatives under continual review for future operational change to ensure the best results are always achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience in building and maintaining strong and effective relationships with Customers, Clients and Suppliers on an operational level
  •  Analyse effectiveness of existing collection strategies, and identify new and improved strategies
  • Define and deploy improved collection processes and tools to maximise collections performance
  • Define key performance metrics that measure and drive operational effectiveness
  • Employ statistical analysis to define Key Performance Indicators, monitor and drive the improvement of those KPI’s
  • In conjunction with team leader(s) manage outbound dialler campaigns to ensure the optimum agent productivity and collections performance whilst ensuring full compliance with regulatory constraints.
  • Challenge outbound dialler strategies and design new approaches
  •  Manage available resource to ensure sufficient time to effectively deal with inbound calls generated from campaigns, disputes and queries
  • Deliver reports and analyse on performance to Director of Collections to include but not limited to performance forecasting, anticipated resource requirements, compliance with client key performance indicators etc
  • Work with Client Manager to ensure client expectations are delivered or exceeded
  • Directly line manage team leader(s) who in turn will manage a growing team of collectors.
  • Work with compliance manager to ensure defined strategies and performance can be delivered in a fully compliant manner.
  • Experience of setting targets and monitoring performance
  • Project planning, management and delivery to a high standard
  • Achieving internal and external targets in a dynamic and complex environment.

Key Requirements

Qualification
  • GCSEs Grades A-C in English and Maths
  • Debt Recovery specific qualifications are desirable
Experience
  • Sector specific debt collection experience in the following areas:
    • - Utilities (Essential)
    • - Financial Services (Essential)
    • - General Commercial (Desirable)
  • Experience demonstrated by a proven track record in the Utilities and  Financial Services sector of successfully employing best business practices that increase productivity, reduces operational costs and improves the Customer experience. 
  • Experience demonstrated by a proven track record of facilitating and delivering Operational change, meeting and exceeding internal and Client expectations.
Knowledge

Visualfiles Developer

Team: Visualfiles Team

We are looking for a Visualfiles Developer to maintain and develop our case management system, Visualfiles and to support and assist the VF Team in their delivery of Visualfiles across the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • To undertake VF development in accordance with the agreed VF schedule of work, completing all elements on time and in budget
  • To co-ordinate and prioritise tasks that have been assigned and to ensure delivery of projects on time and to required standard
  • To undertake administrative maintenance VF work
  • To work with end users to identify and develop solutions to problems as they arise
  • To regularly update the VF Manager with progress of work and any related issues
  • To provide training to end users
  • To research new development methods and investigate changes in relevant IT areas outside of VF

Key Requirements
