Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At Judge & Priestley, we are proud of our record on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) and believe we are one of the most progressive firms in the legal sector in this regard. The firm is committed to having a diverse and inclusive workplace which embraces equity. We are committed to tackling and combatting discrimination. This is not only a feature of our values but one of the firms’ objectives.

To continue to improve in this area, the firm has a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee made up of staff members from across the business and jointly headed by two of the firm’s equity partners, Rachel Addai and Nitika Singh. The committee identified seven core DE&I objectives which the business committed to deliver through 2025 and 2026.

These objectives are:

  • establishing a new DE&I Policy and strategy,
  • enhancing DE&I training,
  • establishing a mentoring programme,
  • breaking down barriers into the law for pupils from disadvantaged or under-represented background with a Discover event programme,
  • increasing our DE&I profile online to evidence what we are achieving,
  • developing a return to work program to assist those away from the office for long periods to reintegrate and breakdown barriers such absences can create to career progression,
  • enhancing the DE&I data we collect so we can properly monitor the progress we are making.

We have already made good progress in delivering on these objectives, having already launched a company wide mentoring scheme for example. Led by the DE&I committee, we are committed to delivering on all these objectives and beyond that driving on-going improvement in this area.
