We understand that the allocation of much local authority business will be subject to some form of public tender, and we regularly make submissions to such exercises. We would also draw your attention to the fact that local authorities can make a direct award via the Crown Commercial Service legal framework – RM6240 and several clients have taken this route to appoint us to work on niche areas of law in which we specialise such as deceased debtor recoveries.

Working daily as we do with public sector bodies, we have a clear understanding of the pressures your teams are under to minimise their costs and maximise recoveries. To that end we typically negotiate a cost neutral Conditional Fee Agreement pricing structure to ensure that our fees are fair and aligned with the outcome of our actions and advice. By sharing the risk of recovering your debt, the onus is clearly on us to minimise your exposure to unsuccessful outcomes and to give you certainty on your potential legal costs.

Added value

We are aware of the constant and seemingly ever-increasing financial pressures that public sector debt recovery teams are having to operate under, and always endeavour to support them through the supply of, often bespoke, added value services.

These can take many formats but can include legal updating services, reviews of documentation wording and document templates and training seminars and networking events for your staff for example.

We can also offer debt buster days where our staff visit your in-house team to review, analyse and ultimately prioritise outstanding debt matters based on the scale and the likelihood of successful recoveries being made.

We also regularly support professional bodies for public sector debt recovery officials through sponsorship and attendance at events such as the Local Authority Civil Enforcement Forum (LACEF) conference and the London and South East Credit Circle (LSECC) for example.
