J&P Credit Solutions continue to build their bulk pre-legal collections capability

Judge & Priestley LLP (J&P) solicitors recent announcement of Financial Conduct Authority authorisation, in addition to its traditional authorisation and regulation by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, is a further manifestation of the ongoing investment being made by the practice in the people, processes and technology required to offer a best in class bulk pre-legal collections capability, for both regulated and other debt types.

This strategic move by J&P really started to gain momentum in late 2016, with the appointment of Mark Bailey MCICM to the newly created position of Director of Collections at J&P Credit Solutions (J&P CS), the debt recovery division of J&P. His brief was to build on the existing collections capabilities at J&P CS, in response to increasing demand from clients for the business to offer bulk pre-legal collections of regulated debt.

Under the direction of the J&P CS partners, Mark has continued to build the pre-legal collections team through 2017, with on-going investment in both the human and capital resources required to successfully challenge for the business of the largest regulated debt owners in the financial and utilities sectors.

Two additional high level positions were created in the team in 2017. The role of Compliance Manager was filled by Stephen Molden, who previously worked alongside Mark Bailey at Bluestone Credit Management and Empingham Ltd. The second new role, that of Collections Performance Manager, was recently taken by Nick Krauspe, who joined J&P CS from Evergreen Finance.

These new roles highlight the on-going commitment to operational excellence, best practice and continuous improvement at J&P CS across the full range of pre-legal and legal debt recovery strategies and activities. They further underwrite our claim to be the “complete one stop shop for meeting the pre–legal and legal debt recovery needs of any business, large or small”.
